The World Simultaneous Breastfeeding event has become an established practice for young mothers and was held for another year with the support of CHARALAMBIDES CHRISTIS within the framework of the social solidarity programme "SYMMETOCHI". With the slogan "Breastfeeding: A Key to Sustainable Development", hundreds of mothers gathered on Saturday October 8th 2016 at prearranged places in all the cities of Cyprus, and whilst breastfeeding their children, they conveyed the message that breastfeeding is especially important and has significant health benefits for children, not only in infancy, but also in later years!

This important event was held for the 10th consecutive year by the Pancyprian Breastfeeding Association “Gift of Life”, under the auspice of the National Committee of Breastfeeding Cyprus and is part of World Breastfeeding Week.

The theme of this year's event, as defined by the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA), focuses on gaining the full support of society for working nursing mothers, with the aim of achieving continued breastfeeding for them, which is a Gift of Life.

Mrs Soteroulla Soteriou, the Head of the Marketing and Corporate Image Department of CHARALAMBIDES CHRISTIS said: “CHARALAMBIDES CHRISTIS social solidarity programme "SYMMETOCHI" actively promotes breastfeeding and supports mothers who choose to give their children breast milk, which is the most suitable food for the maximum biological, emotional and spiritual development of an infant. CHARALAMBIDES CHRISTIS as a company that produces quality food products of high nutritional value, while at the same time being a truly socially responsible company, showed its support again this year to the Pancyprian Breastfeeding Association “Gift of Life” and the Open Line for Breastfeeding 8000 62 62 (mama). Once again, we share the values of caring, safety, trust, health and the proper development of children so that all the groups of society can be informed about the benefits of breastfeeding, and can find the support they need, so that they can offer their children the gift called breastfeeding”.
