The comfiest christmas cheesy potatoes Au Gratin with Charalambides Christis fresh milk, dairy cream and mozzarela grated cheese.

Ingredients

  • 600 g potatoes
  • 250 ml Charalambides Christis Dairy Cream with 35% fat
  • 250 ml Charalambides Christis Fresh Milk Full Fat (3% fat)
  • 30 g butter
  • 30 g all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp thyme
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 150 g Charalambides Christis Mozzarella Grated Cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Peel and slice them very thinly using a knife or a mandoline slicer to ensure the slices are even in shape.
  3. In a small saucepan, warm the dairy cream and milk. Set aside.
  4. In a pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and stir for 1-2 minutes to create a roux. Gradually add the warm cream and milk mixture, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  5. Add onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Let the sauce simmer until it thickens slightly.
  6. Grease a baking dish with oil or butter. Layer the potato slices evenly in the dish. Pour the sauce over the potatoes and sprinkle shredded mozzarella on top.
  7. Cover the dish with aluminium foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour. Remove the foil and bake for another 30 minutes until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.
  8. Sprinkle fresh thyme on top and serve warm.
