The Simultaneous Breastfeeding event has become an established occasion for new mothers and was held once again this year with the active support of Charalambides Christis, as part of the activities of the company’s social solidarity and community support programme “SYMMETOCHI.” Under the slogan “Supporting Breastfeeding Together,” a total of 307 mothers gathered on Saturday, 7 October 2017, at designated locations in all cities across Cyprus and breastfed 317 children, sending a message of support to “work together for the common good,” in line with the guidance of the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA). This campaign offers an opportunity for collective cooperation aimed at protecting, promoting and supporting breastfeeding worldwide. The event was organised for the 11th consecutive year by the Pancyprian Breastfeeding Association “Gift of Life,” under the auspices of the Minister of Health and the Cyprus National Breastfeeding Committee and forms part of World Breastfeeding Week. The “SYMMETOCHI” programme has supported Simultaneous Breastfeeding Day for 11 consecutive years, while this year’s event was accompanied by Charalambides Christis Plus fresh milk, enriched with 40 per cent more natural calcium, vitamins A and D and folic acid, which helps strengthen the body and supports healthy bones.
Mrs Soteroulla Soteriou, the Head of the Marketing and Corporate Image Department of CHARALAMBIDES CHRISTIS said: “Together we share the values of caring, safety, trust, health and the proper development of children. This is why we have been supporting the Association for 11 whole years, so that all the groups of society can be informed about the benefits of breastfeeding and at the same time, can find the support they need, so that they can offer their children the gift called breastfeeding”.
