The Charalambides Christis social solidarity and community support programme “SYMMETOCHI” invites all new mothers once again this year to take part in the established annual Simultaneous Breastfeeding event, which will take place on Saturday, 6 October, in all cities across Cyprus. As the largest company in Cyprus producing and distributing food products and a pioneer operating under international quality systems, Charalambides Christis combines high levels of expertise with the production of products of significant nutritional value for consumers. The company consistently promotes breastfeeding, supporting mothers who choose to give their children the invaluable gift of breast milk, while also raising awareness within Cypriot society about its importance and benefits. The event has become a well-established and successful occasion, attracting mothers and children from across Cyprus. Charalambides Christis has supported Simultaneous Breastfeeding Day for 12 consecutive years and this year’s event will once again be accompanied by Charalambides Christis Plus fresh milk, enriched with 40% more natural calcium, vitamins A and D and folic acid, which helps strengthen the body and supports healthy bones. Under the slogan “Breastfeeding: The Foundation of Life,” this year’s event will take place on Saturday, 6 October 2018, with the main gathering held in Nicosia, where parents and children will have the opportunity both to learn more about breastfeeding and to enjoy organised activities. The event is organised for the 12th consecutive year by the Pancyprian Breastfeeding Association “Gift of Life”, in collaboration with the Charalambides Christis social solidarity and community support programme “SYMMETOCHI.” It is held under the auspices of the Minister of Health and forms part of the promotional activities of the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA). This is an initiative of international character, as similar events are organised by breastfeeding advocates in more than 863 centres worldwide. Registration for the event begins at 10:00 a.m. at the locations listed below for each city, while the Simultaneous Breastfeeding will take place exactly at 11:00 a.m.

According to the goals of the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA), the World Breastfeeding Week 2018 focuses on preventing malnutrition in all its forms, ensuring food security and ending the cycle of poverty.
