Charalambides Christis responsibly informs the public that, following thorough inspections at all stages of milk production and distribution, the cause of the issue that led to a variation in the shelf life of a limited number of fresh milk packages has been identified and fully resolved.
The company fully understands consumers’ concerns and sincerely apologises for the inconvenience caused, as well as for the delay in notifying the public. This delay was due to the complexity of the investigation. Following multiple inspections conducted by the company’s Quality Control and Quality Assurance Departments, in cooperation with the State Veterinary Services, it was determined that the issue stemmed from a technical instability in part of the pasteurisation equipment, which affected the shelf life of a limited number of two-litre fresh milk packages.
Charalambides Christis assures that consumer safety was never compromised, as the raw materials used in its products were completely safe and no microbiological or other risks to public health were identified. At the same time, the company emphasises that its control procedures have been further strengthened to ensure that a similar incident does not occur in the future.
