On November 2, 2022, in Newport, Wales, the PDO Charalambides Christis Organic Halloumi won the Silver Award, at the World Cheese Competition, "World Cheese Awards 2022-2023".
The global cheese celebration brings together distinguished cheese makers, retailers, buyers and expert tasting critics. It was distinguished among 4,434 different types of cheese from 900 companies and 40 countries, as another reward for the company's efforts to highlight the values of dairy culture and the quality of authentic Cypriot cheese products, internationally.
Each type of cheese was graded for its appearance, aromas, and texture, with the top three criteria being the sensation-taste-aftertaste that impart to the palate. The judges were 250 leading experts, from 38 different countries.
Leading countries with a tradition in dairy farming such as France, Italy, Canada, Argentina, Slovenia and Israel were there raising the quality bar of the competition very high, making the Charalambides Christis award even more important.
The PDO Charalambides Christis Organic Halloumi is produced only with organic cow and goat milk.
