Ingredients
- 8 Apples (cut into cubes)
- 150 g raisins
- 150 g Brown Sugar
- 50 g Brandy
- 1/2 tsp Ginger powder
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1700 g Chrysi Zymi Puff Pastry
- 1 egg yolk, diluted with 1 tablespoon of water
- Icing sugar & Cinnamon, for serving
Instructions
- Place the apples in a pan and add the brown sugar. Leave them on low heat for 8 minutes and stir regularly.
- Add the raisins, brandy, cinnamon and ginger. Leave them on the heat for another 5 minutes, and keep stirring.
- Then remove the pan from the heat and set aside.
- Take the puff pastry sheets (after defrosting them) and place them on your kitchen workbench. With a rolling pin, roll the puff pastry very lightly, without pressing it.
- With a round cookie cutter, cut 12 pieces of each puff pastry sheet (in total you will have 48 pieces, 12 of each sheet). In the center of the 24 round pieces, place a spoonful of the apple mixture. In the center of the other 24 pieces, carve with a knife and make 4 straight lines.
- Then, brush the puff pastry around the edges with the egg mixture. For best results, you can also apply to the surface. After that, start folding the sheets with the filling one by one placing the other pastry lines on top to seal them.
- Finally, transfer them to a baking pan lined with parchment paper and bake them in a preheated oven at 190 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Sprinkle with icing sugar and cinnamon before serving.
