Tsoureki French Toast with Caramel Nest

Ingredients
For the French toast
- 1 large slice of tsoureki (Greek sweet bread)
- 1 egg
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp margarine
For the caramel nest
- 5 tbsp sugar
For garnish
- 100 g heavy cream
- 90 g white chocolate
- 1 chocolate egg
- 1 tbsp shredded coconut
Instructions
Prepare the French toast:
- In a bowl, whisk the egg, milk and cinnamon.
- Add the margarine to a pan and heat over medium heat.
- Dip the tsoureki into the milk mixture, then place it in the pan. Cook on all sides until golden brown.
Prepare the caramel nest:
- Add the sugar to a pan and heat over medium–high heat. Once the sugar turns into caramel, remove from the heat. Dip a fork into the caramel and quickly move it back and forth over a large bowl. The caramel will begin to harden and form thin strands. Continue until you create a web of caramel strands. Gather it carefully with your hands to form a nest.
- Place the tsoureki on a plate. Melt the white chocolate in a pan and drizzle it over the tsoureki. Add the shredded coconut in the center and place the caramel nest on top.
- Whip the cream until thick and add two generous spoonfuls inside the nest. Place the chocolate egg on top of the cream and enjoy.
